Four Baptisms of the Bible
Ephesians 4:5
1. Baptism of John
Baptism of John (the Baptizer) was baptism unto repentance. John did not baptize Jesus for the remission of sins. No one today should be baptized for the reason John baptized for.
2. Baptism of the Holy Spirit
Acts ch. 1
When we are baptized today, we do not need to wait, or put it off.
Acts ch. 2
Hebrews 2:3
John 14:26
John 16:23
No one today is baptized with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit today is received after baptism.
3. Baptism of Commission
28 Matthew
Mark 16
After Jesus raised from dead
Acts 2:38 - Repent be baptized for remission of sins (only authorization we have today to baptize).
4. Baptism of Fire
3 John
Matthew 3:11
Refers to wicked
Rev. 20:10-15 - to punish all those who reject Christ (total immersion in fire “Hell” or those not in the book of life).

Why People Hate the Bible
1.The Word shows exactly what we are and how God sees us.
2.The Word demands that we change
-People universally are on the wrong track. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
-Luke 13:3: I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.
-Repent meaning to stop living the way you’ve been living and start living the way God want you to.
-People do not like to admit they need change.
3. The Word tells men what to do. The Bible is not a book of suggestions, but rather a book of commands.
-Luke 6:46: Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?
-John 8:24: I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins."
-Acts 2:38: Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Not a suggestion, but command)
4. The Word shall judge us all.
-John 12:47-48: "As for the person who hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save it. 48There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day.
-Jesus came to save the world.
-The Bible is our measuring stick. No exceptions.
-2 Corinthians 5:10: For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
-All are subject to the same measuring stick.
Conclusion: If we live for ourselves, we are likely to hate the Bible.

Will God Do Right?
Genesis 18:25: 25 Far be it from you to do such a thing—to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?"
Everyone is experiencing trials and tribulations. Is that what God wants? Is that what God wanted to happen?
Genesis 18:17-25 - Abraham ask: We think wicked should be destroyed. Righteous should be spared.
Abraham questioned God about 50 righteous people in Sodom and Gomorrah. God said he would spare if there were 50 righteous. Abraham kept asking God if he would spare the city if there were 45...30...20..10 righteous people in the city. God said he would not destroy.
1.Will God do right in appointing death? Will God do right? e.g. when a small child dies.
2.Will God do right in ordaining eternal punishment? We have people we “think” should go to Hell. e.g. Hitler However, we are not the judge. Some believe God will save good people no matter what, even if they do not have a relationship with him.
3.Will God do right in his chastisement (disciplined)? Parents have children not behaving the way they have been brought up. Parents are faithful to God however. Is God being righteous?
4.Will God do right in establishing His church? Matthew 16:18...Upon this rock I will build my church.
Eph. 4:4-6 - One body (body, church, kingdom are all the same). Some believe it does not matter which church you belong to. Your church should be seeking to follow what God has outlined in his word. Christ died for One church.
Oprah recently made the comment that it does not make a difference if your Christian, Muslin, Buddist, etc. As long as you are religious...everyone will go to Heaven. Is “right” whatever people thinks it is? -- NO, what they Bible says.
5. Will God do right in things we don’t understand? e.g. Things in the Bible--people can think that God is not righteous enough because the answer is not provided in His Word.
Real Question is: Are WE (as Christians) doing right? God has, is, and will always do RIGHT! We’re the ones that’s not always doing right.
